GRANTS AND THESIS PRIZE

Each year, the FPS awards numerous grants to students, post-docs, young researchers and technicians or engineers who are members of the society and wish to attend national or international congresses organized or sponsored by the FPS. Applications are also accepted from established researchers wishing to attend a distant event.

 

FPS grants for 2024

The list of events for which the FPS will award grants in 2024 is shown below. It is also possible to apply for a grant to participate in events that are not in the list. In this case, the request will be examined by the board members. All requests must be made at least two weeks before the end of the registration period (early bird registration) and must be accompanied by the registration receipt.

The grant will be paid directly to the person who attended the conference/school, not to a tutelage, on the basis of receipts for expenses incurred by that person (registration fees, hotel cost, etc.).

  • Eubic-MS Winter School 2024 (https://eubic-ms.org/events/2024-winter-school/) from January 15 to 19 in Winterberg, Germany (1 grant of 500 euros)

  • Ubuntu Summer School 2024 (https://ubuntuproteomics.co.za/), from February 4 to 10 in Gauteng, South Africa. Registration fee including local accomodation and shuttle bus to the site (1 grant of 600 euros). Early registration: October 13, 2023. Preliminary program available.

  • 4th Joint Meeting of Spanish, Portuguese and French Proteomics Societies (https://seprot2024.com/) from February 6 to 9 in Cordoba, Spain, (4 grants of 500 euros)

  • PTM Bact 2024 (Post-Translational Modifications in Bacteria) (https://ptmbact2024.sciencesconf.org/), from May 29 to 30 in Rouen, France (2 grants of 200 euros)

  • Journées Protéome Vert, June 2024 in Montpellier, France (2 grants of 200 euros)

  • FPS / SFSM joint Congress from September 16 to 19 in Lille (6 grants of 300 euros)

  • HUPO World Congress 2024 (https://www.hupo.org/event-5307330) from October 20 to 24 in Dresden, Germany (4 grants of 500 euros)

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR AWARDING GRANTS

> Eligibility requirements:

  • Be a paid-up member of the FPS

  • Be under 35 years of age, or have completed your thesis or Master's degree within 7 years

  • Not to have received an FPS grant the previous year

  • Agree to write a scientific report for the FPS Mag

> The application file must include:

  • Full contact details

  • A curriculum vitae

  • A letter of motivation

  • A copy of the communication submitted to the congress or summer/winter school

Thesis prize 2024

This year, the FPS will also be awarding a thesis prize of 1,000 euros

The winner will present their work at the FPS / SFSM joint congress in Lille.

Eligible candidates must have defended their thesis in 2022 or 2023. The application file must contain the following (if possible in a single pdf file):

- The cover of the thesis manuscript

- Thesis summary (with key words)

- Reports from the examiners and from the defense

- The candidates's curriculum vitae, including thesis start and defense dates, as well as a list of publications and communations with full author lists
